Loneliness

The Psalmist expressed his loneliness: “I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. I watch, and am as a sparrow alone on the housetop” (Psalm 102:6, 7, KJV).

Many things factor into being lonely. Look at God’s cure: “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up” (Psalm 27:10). God himself encourages the lonely. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).

David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me” (Psalm 23:4). He’s there whether you feel Him or not.

Death, divorce, tragedy — so many things leave you feeling lonely. By accepting Christ, you become God’s child (John 1:12). God will remove your loneliness, remaining with you always (Matthew 28:20).
