What God did for my son

By Marie Wyatt

My son Larry was diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2004. The doctor said Larry had the cancer for about two years and it had spread to his bones.

I knew Larry believed in God but had not accepted Christ as his Savior.

The doctor sent Larry home, and hospice provided a hospital bed and medication. A hospice minister, however, provided the most important care.

Timothy Storm anointed Larry with oil and prayed. His eyes lit up. He said he saw something and felt something. From that time on, Larry said a peace came over him and never left him. He told me many times that he would meet me in heaven. I felt the Holy Spirit’s assurance that Larry had accepted Jesus as his Savior.

When Larry died, it was so hard to give up my youngest son. Larry was only 42, and he left behind his wife, Lori, and his 5-year-old son, Dillon. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t grieve for him. But the hope of seeing Larry in heaven keeps me going every day.

Marie Wyatt attends Lifeway Assembly of God in Amelia, Ohio (John Martin, pastor).
