The lump is gone
By Jackie Migliaccio
My husband, Tom, suffered from acid reflux problems. Our family physician referred him to a surgeon for a scope examination down his throat.
At the surgeon’s office we received a shock. The doctor could feel a mass in Tom’s throat inside his thyroid. Once he pointed it out, we could easily feel it ourselves. The doctor scheduled Tom for the scope examination and a sonogram of his throat.
We went home and called many friends to pray. We asked for and received God’s peace. We put Tom’s health in God’s hands and knew that we could trust Him to be with us.
After the scope and sonogram, we visited our family physician again. She said the results of the sonogram were not yet back, but the surgeon’s report showed the dimensions and location of the mass and that it was definitely in the thyroid.
As our doctor examined Tom’s neck, she probed where she thought the lump was located. Then she asked Tom to lie down, and she examined his neck again. For 10 minutes she kept trying to find the lump, using the surgeon’s report as reference.
“I must be really stupid,” she finally said, “because I don’t feel a thing.”
Just then a nurse knocked on the door and handed the doctor the sonogram results. The report showed no sign of a mass, tumor, cyst or even a polyp … only a healthy thyroid.
Both Tom and I told our doctor that Jesus had healed Tom. We have been in awe of our Lord and Savior, and continue to praise Him and tell everyone what He has done for us.
The Lord Jesus is alive and still healing to this day.
