Isolation

Sometimes when we need others the most, our pain tempts us to close ourselves in. Have you isolated yourself from others because of something you are going through? Perhaps you even feel distant from God. Have you permitted the death of a loved one, some painful experience, or adversity to separate you from God? Have you permitted circumstances to isolate you from Christ who died for you?
Perhaps you continue to pray and direct your faith toward your Heavenly Father. But you also need the comfort other believers can offer you. Some people in pain isolate themselves from the church. Don’t make that mistake. Giving up fellowship at your church is similar to rejecting your doctor, medication or hospital. That fellowship can bring you healing.
Jesus has promised never to leave us (Matthew 28:20). He hasn’t left you! He stands with outstretched arms, inviting you to return for help, hope and healing (Matthew 11:28-30). If you draw near to God, you’ll find Him waiting for you (James 4:8).
